He quit football after the season 2005-2006 and has continued to work at RSC Anderlecht, as youth scout. He was regarded as one of the most talented footballers in Sweden in his time but due to getting into a serious argument with Tommy Soderberg, the then new coach of the Swedish national team, he said he won't play for the national team as long as Soderberg coach and only played a total of 30 games for his country.
