Vesterdorf, is head of the EU department of the Danish Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Håndværksrådet) and is also president of the legal affairs committee of UEAPME, the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, which represents over 7 million SME's in the European Union. Peter Vesterdorf has worked as an adviser to the liberal group of the Danish parliament, in the European Parliament (R&D), as EC law adviser in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and as a legal clerk in the European Court of Justice. Vesterdorf is a doctor of European Community law (lic. jur.) and author of a considerable number of books on European Union law, in particular in the fields of the internal market, public procurement, antitrust law, state aid as well as institutional law of the Union. He has contributed to public debate about Union matters in a large number of articles and interviews in the Danish, and to some extent the international, press, and has taught Union law in Denmark as well as abroad.
