For this reason, and on the occasion of the Cádiz Constitution's 200th anniversary, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, with the Embassy of Spain and the University of the Philippines History Department, organized a conference on 28 June 2012. Titled "From Cádiz to Malolos: The Philippines and the Spanish Constitution of 1812," the activity was a highlight of the Philippine-Spanish Friendship program established by law and sponsored by Sen.
