Unknown Author
4.9/5 (12029 ratings)
Description:The home-maker. The word is perhaps a successful upgrade from ‘housewife’ and has embraced many stereotypes since. The pandemic interfered with the traditions to bring in new dimensions, both progressive and regressive. This project revisits the stereotypes, explores the evolving gender equations and busts some myths. What stereotype? Which myth? Here's to the contributions of eleven storytellers, our only brief to their storytellers being – expose the concealed, propose the unthinkable.Authors/Poets:Parvadavardini Sethuraman, Mahua Sen, Priya Rajaram, Dr. Veena Ramanathan, Nazneen Kachwala, Sonali Mitra, Meha Sharma, Akhila Mohan CG, Venkataraman Ganesan, Damayanti and Dr Preetha VasanThis project aimed to liberate the homemaking concept from its traditional boundaries, confining it to a gender or domesticity. Homemaking is a construct of comfort and positivity. A homemaker is anyone who strives for the same for self and others, be it personally, socially or professionally. We believe such intervention will influence critical thinking and behavioural change. To drive the same a series of panel discussions were conducted. The book includes the links to the conversations, featuring:Sutapa Basu, Mona Verma, Tanushree Podder, Chrisanne Creado, Phil.
