Description:The basic goal of this workbook is for writers to write one new story each month for twelve months and practice using the tools of writing. The suggested word count for each story is 750-1,000 words, but writers are in charge of writing more if led to do so. Writers who are in a writing group, a book club, or a reader's group will be able able to share a new pitch every month. Writers will develop writing skills and use storytelling skills to exercise the craft of writing a good story. Each month, writers will be introduced to ten optional conflicts, a theme, and challenged to include three highlights in a story. During the month, writers will focus on developing certain aspects of writing such as plot development, writing a good hook, exploring personal experiences, and using good resources that will help the writer persevere. A motivational test and directions are given at the front of the workbook to make good use of time. Brief directions are given at the beginning of each chapter which relates to a new month.
