Love is rekindled. But an old pain resurfaces; harsh and offensive words are exchanged. And, without any warning, they find themselves at the mercy of desperate criminals, willing to do whatever is necessary to get the money they need to avoid the hangman. Beaumont is wounded and left behind while Eleanor confronts a fate worse than death. Determined not to give up until he finds her, Beaumont leaves for an unpredictable journey and, despite his despair, it is in his cousin Monty that he finds the strength to endure his quest. "If I live..." is a romantic adventure involving betrayal and friendship, death and love, and where the determination of a passionate heart is taken to its limit. As the sands of the hourglass fall, Beaumont and Eleanor realise that they cannot let hope die. Hope and their new found love are all they have to keep them alive. Since then, I have been reading everything I can put my hands on.
