Description:It is my pleasure to introduce "40 + 1", by Peter Monacelli and Tony Leuzzi. This publication reflects the history of Rochester Contemporary Art Center; and also looks forward, helping to provide critical support for the long term future of RoCo. It features 41 paintings by Monacelli in response to 41 poems by Leuzzi. As a nod to our popular annual 6x6 exhibition (a project that both artists contribute to) this edition is 6 inches square. The artists chose to create 40 paintings, dedicating one to each year since RoCo's founding as the Pyramid Gallery. A final pairing was added as a toast to the future and the celebration of this anniversary.
