The energy mix in the Arab world will change in the future in light of diminishing oil resources, and the availability of clean renewable energy sources. However, it is necessary to differentiate between the availability of raw energy sources (also other conventional energy resources) and the capability to utilize them in an economic and environmentally friendly manner. In short, the Arab world will witness profound changes on the renewable energy front due to the development of technology to optimize, store and transport energy, alongside the availability of traditional energy sources as such gas and oil-shale, which will in turn affect the nature of energy monopoly.
