Dopo aver fatto parte di molteplici circuiti indipendenti nelle diverse isole britanniche, Galloway si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti nel 2007 per lottare nell'Ohio Valley Wrestling e nella Florida Championship Wrestling dove vinse i titoli Heavyweight e Tag Team. Galloway ha iniziato gli allenamenti per diventare wrestler professionista all'eta di 15 anni presso l'accademia di sviluppo della Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA), dopo che la sua famiglia si trasferi nel sud dell'Inghilterra e piu precisamente a Portsmouth. Nella FWA venne allenato dal dirigente della federazione Mark Sloan insieme a Justin Richards e James Tighe.
