The consumption of domestic mool for the first 11 months of the year was 89 per cent of the reported consumption of foreign and domestic combing and clothing tool and was greater than the amount of domestic noel consumed in 1929 although the consumption of domestic and foreign noel combined was smaller than in 1929. In 1925 only 49 per cent of the reported consumption of combing and clothing wool tas domestic tool but the percentige has increased steadily since that time. Imports of combing and clothing wool into this country in 1931 were the smallest in more than 50 years. This may be attributed largely to the rapid increase 1l United otates wool production in recent years but for 1951 the small importation was also due in part to the heavy accumulation of stocks during the period of lot consumption in 1930.
