After the above was arranged for the press, I discovered accidentally that the semi-saxon account of St Catharine had been printed in the year 1841 for the members of the 'abbotsford Club, ' under the learned editorship of the Rev. James Morton. In consequence of this discovery I proposed to withhold the publication of that part of my paper, but the advice of several friends, who represented the philo Iogical importance of the Legend, and the fewness of the copies already printed, has induced me to re-adopt my original intention.
