Thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, a Convention of the people of North Carolina met in the hall of the House of Representatives, at the city of Raleigh, to-day, Monday, September the sixth, A. D. 1875, for the purpose of considering and adopting amend ments to. The Constitution of the State. At 12 M, the delegates were called to order by his Honor Thomas Settle, one of the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court. The Chair designated Messrs. Young of Granville, French of New Hanover, Cunningham of Person, and Bennett of An. Son, to assist him in the discharge of his duties.
