A Letter From the Right Honourable Sir Robert Wilmot-Horton, Bart, Vice President: To Dr. Birkbeck, the President, and the Members of the London ... by an Illustrative Tabular Statement
Description:Excerpt from A Letter From the Right Honourable Sir Robert Wilmot-Horton, Bart, Vice President: To Dr. Birkbeck, the President, and the Members of the London Mechanics' Institution, on the Subject of the Corn Laws, Accompanied by an Illustrative Tabular Statement The annexed illustrative Tabular Statement, taken in conjunction with Appendix No. 1, will give together a most valuable Statistical Statement, to which as far as I am aware the attention of the Public has never, as yet, been called. I received the additions in the Appendix too late to include them in the Table. The "Observations" at the bottom of the Table, must be taken as part of my Letter to Dr. Birkbeck, &c. The object of this Letter is not to dictate propositions as truths, and as such to expect or require a consent to my reasoning. It is to point out the mode in which Tradesmen and Operatives and Agricultural Labourers* may judge for themselves as to the extent with which their interest is bound up one way or other on this important question.
