Description:Excerpt from The Basilica; Or, Palatial Hall of Justice and Sacred Temple, Its Nature, Origin, and Purport: And a Description and History of the Basilican Church of Brixworth, With Lithographic Illustrations I have for many years been prepared with data for this Essay on the Basilica; but reserved the publication of any matter upon the subject till I could finish tho excavations and discoveries pertaining to my own church, that I might bring out the descriptions of both together, as being cognate to each other. Not that I have been altogether silent on either subject. For in the year 1845, at. the request of my old friend the Rev. T. Cooke, of St. Peter's, Brighton, I supplied a brief account of tho church to my respected friend Canon Argles, for insertion in his well-known publication, the Cottager's Monthly Visitor, for which Mr. Cooke provided a south elevation.
