Later research indicates that the operation probably involved persons by the hundreds, mostly young soldiers, and by early 1961 the death rate was approaching the point of raising suspicions by distraught mothers and the American press. It was then that the CIA decided to send Japanese War Criminals, labeled as advisors, to perform this undertaking. Unfortunately those efforts failed miserably, with the Japanese Advisors simply disappearing from the face of the Earth and in a similar manner to the American soldiers. Not even one of these so-called Japanese Advisors is documented to have ever been seen or heard from again.
