Fireside Stories From Thunder Valley (Thunder Valley Trilogy, #5)

Unknown Author
4.9/5 (13562 ratings)
Description:Cozy sounding, yes?True, we did tell stories for three days around the fireplace in the communal building of Thunder Valley. It was like playing hooky. No usual work for three whole days and nights. It was special, it was fun, it was...Not normal. We do not do normal very well. The stories started off with Jerry and Tanya telling Nikki how they got together. Romanitc, to be sure. But... oh my, what an unusual romance it was, peppered with drones and a black-hood kidnapping, and Tanya's unique sexual orientation. That led to a unique extended time of storytelling, with people sharing things which they had hidden, or suppressed, or simply were too embarrassed to tell their friends and family of the third commune of Thunder Valley.A couple of the stories were light and 'fluffy'. Like Eowyn and the hunters... and the bear. Martin in Paris going down the Seine with another 'gray' clandestine agent. And solving a murder.Others dipped into the bowels of hell. What Jeb actually did in Africa. Heather's telling of what she considered her unforgivable sin during the Irish Rebellion. Nikki's early life on the streets of Moscow... which led into the most startling revelation of her life after she told it, and changed everything for all the people of the Valley. That was primarily Jane's doing. And what a woman, what a force of nature, my beautiful wife has become. As has her granddaughter Catie. You see, it was not simply stories. Things happened that no one could have predicted. Again, this book is a roller coaster ride of excitement. You should probably plan to read no more than a couple of the stories at any one time. Otherwise you'll feel like we did after it was all over. Absolutely fried. But it was a good fried.I need to mention the surprise visitors. Who brought two more surprise visitors to the Valley. Three we knew, one we did not. I will say no more than that. But the stories they told of degradation and loss were so heartbreaking and fascinating we were spellbound by them... but so happy that the second half was filled with so much good and joy in it. Afterward we felt like we had been lifted on angels' wings. This much would have been enough to make these special days complete. But then something happened that only William and Jay could have concocted in their brilliant, child-like minds. Jeb thought what they had put in motion could bring the Valley to a violent end. He and the others of the Valley who had been in harm's way before made ready for that eventuality. We have been in a lot of trouble in the past. Why would we not be again?Colleen and I, Patrick, wrote this one. I was not simply the editor this time. My dear wife has come into her own as a writer, which pleases me more than I can say. Except. She writes things about me that no man could hear without a flush on his face. But I suppose that's fair. I've done the same with everyone else in the Valley. So I winced and let Colleen have her head. As though I had a choice. The women of the Valley are formidable. And as you already know, voracious.Don't even try reading this one if you have not visited Thunder Valley in some of the first four books... The End Of The Computer, The Final World Order, The First Commune, and The Scientists. You will either think us mad, or perhaps go around the bend yourself. But if you love Thunder Valley as much as we do, this is a fine, fine book to cozy up with next to your own fireplace in a comfy chair and a cup of tea or coffee or hot chocolate. Or read in bed on a dark and stormy night.Cheers,PatWe have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
