Description:In January 2055, four students at Stanford University try to solve a relations problem in a very unconventional way. If their friends knew about it, they would be branded nerds for all eternity, something they probably deserve. When they get stuck they ask one of their granddads for advice. This throws them into a mind boggling adventure that just gets more and more bizarre over time. All the world’s weirdest secrets seem to hunt them down to reveal themselves, and they have no idea why. They are all skilled in science and technology, but apart from that, they are just four guys. Most of the weird things they encounter seem to be associated with the Wasp Nest; a man-made moon in low Earth orbit they all think is awesome. The first part of the novel is an introduction and a warm up. The weirdest stuff is found in part two, and the third part is a like a road movie. It covers more than half the pages of the book and is a tribute to two books, a theatre play and a movie. The books are Journey to the West and The Lord of the Rings. The theatre play is The Tempest by William Shakespeare, and the movie is the Swedish animated family film Dunderklumpen from 1974. Nice mix aye? It's a philosophical, surreal and nerdy kind of science fiction, full of numbers and with a few sprinkles of fantasy, but it is no doubt science fiction.
