Living in East Markham

Unknown Author
4.9/5 (18068 ratings)
Description:During the autumn of 1975 the University of Nottingham established a local history class under Dr B. J. Biggs of Eaton Hall College of Education. Initially a series of lectures outlined those periods of English history which have particularly affected village life and illustrations were drawn from East Markham and its vicinity. Later during the session, and during the following winter, the class divided into small working groups led by Dr Biggs and Mr G. B. Hardy, a colleague from Eaton Hall, and examined select topics from the village's past. This booklet embodies a summary of their research. It is by no means a comprehensive history of the village, but merely a sample of what may be discovered. Much remains for future study, especially in the area of changing patterns of land organisation and use and in the rich heritage of old buildings that still remain. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
