It takes place from the tender age of 15 until he was 16, almost 17 between the years 1995 and 1997. He barely understood anything of love and its workings at that time, and always questioned whether it truly existed. His parents had divorced when he was fifteen in 1995, and when his father found someone again they moved in together. Shaun remained with his mother, brother and sister, but stayed over by his father some weekends and holidays. This context will become more clear in the poems of this era. There was one special person in his life at the time, even though he knew they could never be together. It led to an intense amount of loneliness, as you will see through the words. Having worked through these poems to put them in this publication, it helped him realise just how far he'd come and mature he has become with his writing.
