Vietnam: A Transition Tiger?

Brian Van Arkadie
4.9/5 (27641 ratings)
Description:The book provides a factual account of the economic reform process and economic performance in Viet Nam that should be a useful reference to a broad cross-section of readers. The authors offer a distinctive interpretation of the process of economic reform and the performance of the economy, drawing on their direct observation of the policy-making process and changes in the Vietnamese economy since the late 1980s, as well as domestic and international research. There is considerable discussion of reform processes, the internal debates and pressures that led to reforms. There is a particularly strong focus on the role of institutions, incentives and human capital in encouraging business investment and promoting economic growth. About the AuthorRay Mallon is a freelance economist who has more than 18 years experience working on economic and regulatory reform issues in Asia for national governments, ADB, the World Bank, and UN agencies. Based in Hanoi since 1991, he works mostly in Southeast Asia. He has a Masters Degree in Economics from the Australian National University and an honors degree in Agriculture Economics from the University of New England. Brian Van Arkadie graduated from LSE in 1955 and received his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley. He has held long-term positions within government agencies, donor organizations, and universities (including ISS, Cambridge University, IDS, Yale University and Dartmouth College). For the past 14 years he has worked on aspects of economic reform in Viet Nam. He is currently resident in Cambridge, England. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
