The city occupies the entirety of the original township. Minnesota State Highway 15 and County 7 are two of the main routes in St. Augusta. Interstate 94 and County 75 skirt the northeastern border of St. Augusta. The city of St. Cloud is to the immediate north and northeast of St. Augusta. As of the census of 2000, there were 3,065 people, 987 households, and 838 families residing in the township. The population density was 81.4 people per square mile (31.4/km ). There were 1,000 housing units at an average density of 26.6/sq mi (10.3/km ). The racial makeup of the township was 98.79% White, 0.07% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.52% Asian, 0.03% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.39% of the population.
